What is the most exciting thing about working in this business? What is your professional passion?

I was drawn to Suffolk by its unmatched culture and its focus on building people. For me, there is no more important mission as a leader than empowering individuals and teams to grow and succeed. Effective leaders bring out the best in people, and, in turn, clients and companies win. At Suffolk, our empowered teams drive innovation today that shapes the built world for those who work and live in the communities of tomorrow.

What do you love to do when you aren’t at work?

Outside of work, there’s no greater joy for me than spending time with my family. We have two teenage daughters and are active in their academic, athletics, service, and performing arts communities. We can also be found skiing in the winter, hiking or biking in the summer, and indulging our love of travel whenever possible.

What is your favorite community cause or philanthropic organization to support and why?

Our family volunteers with Special Olympics Massachusetts to support and empower participants through sports, promoting inclusion and confidence. It's a meaningful way for us to give back to the community, enrich our own and positively impact these athletes' lives.

What was your favorite family experience?

Our family was fortunate to travel with my parents on a National Geographic trek in Alaska to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. We spent weeks in pristine waterways and wilderness, working with and learning from NatGeo photographers, biologists and other skilled scientists. It was something none of us will ever forget.

What is your favorite app and why?

As a CIO, my favorite (or at least most frequently used) apps are Microsoft OneNote and Microsoft Teams. They allow me to organize a million ideas, collaborate and communicate with colleagues more effectively, and easily incorporate emerging AI into my daily workflows.

Who was your mentor/biggest influence and what did they teach you?

My late father worked in and led our century-old family business for more than 50 years. I saw him as a model of unwavering servant leadership, integrity and superb work ethic. Simply put, he cared. I think about him daily. The respect he earned over his life are best understood in his own words: “By striving to be the best, and always doing the right thing for our customers and employees, we created trust in us, our company, and our services. When your employees and customers realize that you truly care about them, wonderful things happen.”
