Suffolk is constructing a 634,000 square-foot building on Parcel A-2 in Boston’s Seaport District.
585,000 square feet of the building will be filled with office and lab space, while an additional 15,000 square feet of adjacent land will be used for the "Triangle Parcel.” The main hall and the Triangle Parcel Building will be joined by a landscaped bridge spanning the I-90 off-ramp.
The envisioned project rethinks the urban mixed use program to fully capitalize on the potential of the site — establishing public space that is not just usable, but active and energized twelve months a year.
What makes this Seaport District project unique is that it will sit at multiple crossroads: the multi-story intersection of Congress Street and World Trade Center Avenue; the gap between the lower Seaport and the Summer Street corridor; the crossing of pedestrians and interstate traffic; and the coming together of multiple modes of transportation. This building will serve to link these junctures together, bringing commercial access to the public and vice versa.
This project is the first project in Boston to achieve SITES pre-certification from The Sustainable SITES Initiative. The Sustainable SITES Initiative is a rating system that guides, evaluates and certifies a project’s sustainability in the planning, design, construction, and management of landscapes and other outdoor space. The project’s SITES achievement is one of five such accolades. The project is set to achieve Gold level certification for SITES, LEED, and WELL, in addition to Platinum certifications for both WiredScore and SmartScore.
