360 State Street is a 32-story, 500-unit mixed-use development located in the heart of downtown New Haven.
360 State Street is also the first in the state to achieve LEED Platinum certification, featuring an on-site 400kW fuel cell that generates renewable power, heat, and hot water and achieves energy savings in excess of 50 percent. The project has half the carbon footprint of a comparable urban apartment building.
The 700,000 square-foot development includes 29,100 square feet of ground floor retail, including a full-service grocery store and a 500-car public parking garage. The project was built in a location that is both ethnically and economically diverse with easily accessible employment opportunities and downtown amenities.
Suffolk worked closely with the development team and Housing Authority of New Haven on this project. Community involvement was of utmost importance during the preconstruction and estimating phase with special attention devoted to minority-owned, women-owned, and locally owned businesses. Completion of the main structure was achieved one year after groundbreaking
