After providing preconstruction services for more than a year, Suffolk renovated the existing façade of the Modern Theater building in downtown Boston and constructed a new 12-story student residence hall for Suffolk University.
The Suffolk team dismantled and restored the existing historic façade of the theater—designated as a Boston Landmark—and constructed the new tower, which provides housing for up to 200 students. Suffolk then rebuilt the refurbished façade around the structure of the new building. As part of the project, the ground floor houses a new 2,400 square-foot studio theater with 185 seats and an 800 square-foot art gallery.
