The most exciting thing about working in this business is the camaraderie and teamwork it takes to build great projects. There’s something incredibly energizing about seeing a team come together with a singular focus and carry a project from the beginning of its lifecycle all the way through completion. I’m passionate about building great teams and creating the environment for them to succeed.

When I’m not at work, my favorite thing to do is spend time with my wife and two boys. We love to travel, experience new places, and be together. Some of my favorite memories have come from those experiences, and that time together is something I really treasure.

I actually have two. I travel a lot, so I use FlightAware constantly to track flights, see where my plane is coming from, and stay ahead of any changes. The other is Microsoft To Do. It helps me keep track of everything that’s in the air, stay on top of deadlines, and make sure open issues don’t get lost. I’m definitely a “list guy,” so it gets a lot of use.

I’m a big fan of Extreme Ownership. Its lessons around leadership, teamwork, and accountability apply just as much personally as they do professionally. The idea that leaders take ownership of outcomes and create the conditions for their teams to succeed has had a real influence on how I approach leadership.
