A modern, multi-story building with reflective glass windows stands along a palm-lined street at sunset. Cars and trucks are parked nearby, and small groups of people are gathered by the building’s entrance.

Integrated Command & Communications Center at Lightspeed

Suffolk provided turnkey Design-Build services to Miami-Dade County for their new Integrated Command & Communications Center at Lightspeed. The Facility houses various critical mobile assets for departments including Emergency Management, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR), and Miami-Dade Police Department (MDPD), among others. The scope of work included a new 12-story office and parking garage building with over 1,600 parking bays and 300,000 square feet of office space. The scope of work also included a protected pedestrian bridge on the second floor to link the new parking garage/office building to the existing Lightspeed Facility, which underwent a shell fit-out to provide over 100,000 square feet of new office space.

A spacious, modern control room with rows of desks and monitors, large weather maps and a hurricane image on wall screens, and several people working or conversing throughout the room.
