Two phases of construction in a fully operational terminal.
Logan International Airport Terminal E Modernization
The first phase included enabling the addition of four gates and major renovations to the existing terminal. The second phase included the addition of three gates and associated landside and airside improvements.
On the departures level, the existing checkpoint was decommissioned and moved to a new location. The current checkpoint was renovated to accommodate additional concessions and office support space. The ticketing lobby was extended and integrated with the new addition, and a major reconfiguration of the existing ticketing lobby was undertaken. This included new technology, new ticket counter arrangements, kiosks and a new vertical circulation node on the west end of the terminal’s three-level space connecting from the arrivals level to the departures level.

Extensive reconfigurations on the mezzanine and arrivals levels.
Logan International Airport Terminal E Modernization
This includes a major re-configuration of the existing Immigration and Naturalization Service Hall, the Customs and Border Protection areas, and the baggage claim hall. The project also includes the modernization of the central plant with a new co-gen system. The terminal is jointly designed by Luis Vidal and AECOM with the intent to improve the customer experience while increasing Logan’s capacity to service wide-bodied jets.
