A culture of caring

Putting people first

Three people outdoors, working together as a community—two stretching a metal sheet above a wooden picnic table while the third smiles nearby. They're surrounded by trees, with a cabin visible in the background.
A Girl Scout wearing a brown sash and a pink sweatshirt builds a structure with yellow plastic pieces at a table, focused on her project. The plain background highlights her dedication to creativity and community.
Several people from the community plant small American flags in the grass on a cloudy day, participating in a memorial or patriotic event. The flags are prominent in the foreground, with volunteers working together in the background.
A community firefighter in uniform stands next to a smiling child sitting on the front bumper of a red fire engine with “RANDOLPH” on the windshield, outdoors on a sunny day.
A group of young girls in Brownie uniforms work on a craft project at an outdoor table, enjoying a sunny day in a grassy area. An adult stands nearby smiling, as the sense of community shines through their shared creativity.
A man in a blue jacket talks to three people wearing green hard hats, orange safety vests, and sunglasses. They are holding papers and standing outside near a construction event area focused on community engagement.
A group of nine smiling people pose in a storage room, proudly holding colorful, cartoon-themed backpacks. Wearing matching SUFFOLK shirts, they showcase their strong sense of community amid shelves full of supplies and boxes.
Six women in red State Farm shirts smile outdoors, standing and kneeling around a small wooden catapult on a grassy field with trees in the background. Their cheerful thumbs up reflect their strong sense of community spirit.

Culture of Caring

We're all in for the people and places that make up our communities

Caring has always been part of Suffolk’s DNA. From founding the Suffolk Cares Foundation in 2006 to launching our National Volunteer Pledge, we’re always seeking ways to make a difference.

Build With Us @ Suffolk
A group of construction workers wearing hard hats, safety vests, and gloves walk through a partially built commercial building with exposed steel and concrete, embodying a strong sense of community on the job site.

Build With Us @ Suffolk is our business accelerator for small trade partners and subcontractors, opening doors for M/WVBEs, DBEs, and SBA-certified businesses to expand and make their mark on their industry.

Sustainability

Caring for our planet today is what we need to build a better world for future generations, so the holistic integration of sustainable practices within the built environment is more important now than ever.

Trade Partner Diversity
Two construction workers in safety vests and hard hats walk up a metal staircase inside an industrial building, viewed from above. Shadows from the structure create a geometric pattern, highlighting the sense of community in their teamwork.

Suffolk’s Trade Partner Diversity program expands opportunities and supports long-term partnerships through transparent compliance measures and accountability standards. By investing in community outreach and education, we strengthen the pipeline of diverse trade partners and promote collaboration across projects.

Volunteer Pledge
Two people wearing blue Suffolk shirts interact, embodying community spirit. The woman smiles while holding papers; the man’s back displays “Proud to give back” in bold letters as they volunteer or work together.

Caring at Suffolk means a responsibility to positively impact the communities in which we live and work. To put that core value into action, we introduced our National Volunteer Pledge in 2025. Through this concerted effort, Suffolk works as a team to give back to local organizations across our national footprint.
