Suffolk performed extensive renovations and upgrades to an existing 60,000-square-foot building in Boston’s Seaport Innovation District, converting the two-story structure into an advanced research and cGMP manufacturing facility. The project highlights Suffolk’s expertise in science and technology construction, delivering a highly specialized environment tailored to complex research and production needs.

The renovation included significant MEP upgrades and structural modifications to support high-tech capital equipment and new laboratory and manufacturing spaces. The facility features multiple specialized areas, including laboratories, drug development and kilo lab spaces, controlled environments, utility and support areas, offices, and a remote warehouse. Designed with sustainability in mind, the building incorporates 100% heat recovery from lab and process exhaust to preheat incoming outdoor air, enhancing both efficiency and performance.
